MrBeast Adds Author to His Growing List of Achievements
MrBeast has added another title to his growing list of achievements. Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, is now an author with The Most Dangerous Games, a survival thriller co-written with bestselling author James Patterson.
Patterson is known for popular thriller series such as Alex Cross and Women’s Murder Club. He has also worked with well-known names including Bill Clinton and Dolly Parton. For MrBeast, the partnership brings together his world of challenges and Patterson’s thriller-writing experience.
What Is The Most Dangerous Games About?
The story follows 1,000 strangers who are invited to compete, but only 100 are selected. The competition begins in Antarctica and takes the players through dangerous locations, including shark-filled waters near a remote Chilean island, deserts, mountains and caves.
The Games are not just difficult. They can be deadly. As the competition continues, the players also become a danger to one another. Alliances begin to fall apart, and contestants turn against each other as they fight to stay in the game.
The story may sound familiar to fans of MrBeast’s content, especially his reality competition series Beast Games on Amazon Prime Video. However, MrBeast has made it clear that the novel is not simply a YouTube challenge turned into a book. It is a fictional story with its own world and characters.
MrBeast’s Team Helped With His Character
MrBeast also appears as a version of himself in the story. In an interview, he explained that members of his team helped James Patterson make sure the fictional version sounded like him.
He said that it can feel strange to give feedback about yourself because you may not see yourself the same way other people do. His team helped Patterson bring that version of MrBeast into the story.
A Book With a Real-World Competition
The book also follows the MrBeast approach outside the story. Readers who buy the physical English print edition can enter a real-world competition with $1 million on the line. Clues and Easter eggs are hidden throughout the book to help players during weekly elimination challenges.
The book was released on September 1, 2026, and is available in hardcover, ebook and audiobook formats. The print edition is 480 pages. The audiobook is narrated by Nolan North, known for voicing Nathan Drake in the Uncharted games, and also features MrBeast.
MrBeast Is Not the First YouTuber to Write Fiction
MrBeast is not the first YouTuber to become an author. Other creators, including Zoella, Joey Graceffa and StacyPlays, have released fiction books. What makes MrBeast’s move different is how he has connected the book to a real competition.
Final Thoughts
The Most Dangerous Games gives MrBeast another way to tell stories and connect with his audience. From YouTube videos to Beast Games and now fiction, his content continues to move into new formats. This book shows that a creator’s audience can follow them beyond one platform and into a completely different kind of story today.
